Can I tell you about
the moon today?
Soft and silver and
blurred at the edges
A baby-blue hue
On an ink-spilled canvas
Have you ever seen
the sunsets of spring?
Rose and violet and
gossamer gleaming threads
That weave around
Merry fields of tulips
Do you know
how you laugh at me?
Golden and glowing and
delight in all its glory
A melody of joy
With smiles for applause
Would you listen
to my favorite song?
Red and raw and
truth at its most genuine
Sharing of earphones
Hands hesitantly held
Are poems enough,
what do you think?
Green and mossy and
blooming leaves of paper
Written from one heart
Hoping to touch another
