Dusk of Goodbye

My mind’s a storm, a restless fight,
The dusk arrives but steals the light.

With a heavy chest and a trembling heart,

I prepare myself as we drift apart.

I don’t want this, can’t we just stay?

Grow old together, find our way.

Are we sinners, doomed to fall?

Why must fate take it all?

I watch you lying by my side,

While tears I’ve fought refuse to hide.

The silence hums, a bitter tune,

The stars won’t shine, eclipsed by the moon.

I pray for you to stay, but time won’t bend,
Why must all stories find their end?

I would trade my days to give you more,

Yet life won’t grant the time I implore.

I know that soon, you’ll slip away,

Yet in my heart, you’ll always stay.

No end can steal what we have shared,

Love remains, even though life is unfair.
