Unnumbered years have passed it seems
Myriad of emotions, still in thy eyes beam
At times of pleasure, blissful melody they seek
Amid the gloom of grief, with tears they speak
Of all moments once spent in solitude sweet
On flowery slopes among the stacks of wheat
Reminiscent of which are all thoughts refined
An encounter too sweet with an innocent mind
Oh Love! How I used to gaze at thee
Prancing around all day jocularly,
Thy elating grace, full of fancies
Inconstant, responding flippantly
Oh Heavens! Just how so many faces used to stare
Fondly when thou rumpled through my parted hair
Naturally I felt like all my dazzled senses at rest
Lying in thy soft white endearing hands abreast
To this day all which at times, I gladly recollect
The scenes of splendour, thee perfectly reflect
In thy crystal adorned, such pure amber eyes
Which sing of beauty; that long lost paradise!
One where we desired, to cherish an entire eternity
At a juncture complemented by the miracles of rain
What persist now are simply memories that prevail
As today we pass each other, like strangers once again
